Family Service agencies are highly regarded for offering affordable and accessible, highly qualified professionals to support the growing and changing needs of individuals, couples, families and workplaces.
Every Family Service agency is separately incorporated and has a voluntary Board of Directors representing a cross section of community stakeholders. Typically, Board members of Family Service agencies are local community leaders.
Many of our members have been in service for over 50 years and are well recognized as integrated service hubs that fill significant service gaps in delivering community mental health, trauma and wellness solutions. These services come as a powerful relief to Ontario’s health care system by re-directing Ontarians away from hospitals and primary care into more appropriate, effective, community-based treatment.
Some of the common issues addressed through our member agencies include:
Mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, anger management and trauma
Domestic violence and woman abuse
Sexual violence and harassment
Male survivors of sexual abuse
Employment retention/workplace issues
Relationship and family problems
Concerns related to children and youth
Credit and financial management issues
Support for LGBTQ+ adults and youth
